Firefighters who were called to a chip pan fire at Dymchurch have rescued a cat.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a chip pan fire in Tritton Gardens, Dymchurch at around 7.20pm yesterday evening, 15 February.

Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to pinpoint the location of the fire in a kitchen at the rear of the semi-detached property.

Two breathing apparatus teams went into the home, while one team extinguished the blaze using a hose reel jet, the second searched for a missing pet cat, which was rescued and brought to safety.
