There’s a long tradition in Stanford, pre-dating modern initiatives like the Big Lunch and the Great Get Together, for the village to come together for a summer lunch.

All Saints church in Stanford benefited this year with the money raised going to the maintenance of the building.

The event which took place on 8 July and was very well supported with over 100 villagers of all ages taking part and over £1,000 raised.

Local councillors Susan Carey and Jenny Hollingsbee were among those enjoying the sunshine and chance to chat. They have agreed to give a £500 from their Shepway ward member grant towards the provision of a new boiler for Stanford church.
