The Hawkinge Gazette is an independent online newspaper, which aims to provide the people of Hawkinge and East Kent accurate news about local events and issues.

It is not affiliated to any political group or any other official organisation and does not receive sponsorship of any kind.

Any revenue received through advertising will be put towards the running costs of this site.

The main purpose of the site is to keep local people informed of news, events and issues in and around Hawkinge and the Channel Coast area of south east Kent.

The Hawkinge Gazette will also give you a platform in which to have your say.

It is written and designed by a journalist with more than ten years' experience who wishes to put her skills to good use by producing an on-line newspaper devoted primarily to Hawkinge but also to include the English Channel Coast from Dungeness to Deal and the inland areas of East Kent .

There are a number of other sites dedicated to Hawkinge matters which may be of interest, and we have included links to all those that we are aware of. If we have missed yours, please let us know.

If you have a story, please let us know. The editor welcomes contributions from representatives of all local organisations, schools, clubs and societies, as well as individuals, so long as they are relevant to the area and within the boundaries of good taste.
