Fire: Kent fire crews battle 32 acre standing corn blaze near Cat and Custard Pot pub in Hawkinge

Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to a big standing corn blaze near the Cat and Custard Pot public house in Hawkinge late yesterday afternoon, 29 August

 

 

Firefighters were faced with approximately 32 acres of standing corn alight.

 


Crews used a hose reel, beaters and put fire breaks in place to prevent the blaze spreading to an adjacent field.
