Inventive rain gardens in Folkestone set to reduce flooding

A series of ‘rain gardens’ installed on Dolphins Road and Wingate Road in Folkestone will be the first of their kind installed in Kent to manage flooding.

 


Flood gates closed in north Kent as Canterbury prepares for tidal surge on Friday and Saturday

Canterbury City Council has closed 45 floodgates along the coastline as a precautionary measure, following forecasts of a strong northerly wind to coincide with high tides on Friday and Saturday.

Work on vital coastal protection to begin in Folkestone

Vital coast defence work is due to start at Coronation Parade in Folkestone at the end of May.
