The lights which adorn the side and front of the iconic Dreamland seafront building in Margate have been officially switched on by Tracey Emin, marking a new era for the former cinema and the town.

A new £26m leisure centre in Whitfield has taken a big step forward as proposals for the centre have been given the go ahead by Dover District Council, and are now subject to planning permission being granted.
