Plans to create a new single council for East Kent are to be put on hold following a vote by Shepway District Council last night (Wednesday 22 March).

At a time when East Kent and the UK as a whole voted to leave the EU so Britain could 'take back control', district councils in the east of the county are looking to band together to form a 'Unitary Authority' which would centralise the administration of Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Shepway and Thanet.
