Folkestone Harbour Arm' Mole Cafe welcomes Canadians and French on WW1 Tour

A group of Canadian and French visitors will settle down to tea and cake at the Mole Cafe, Folkestone Harbour Arm on Wednesday 29 March 2017 as part of a 20-day First World War centenary trek marking the anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

Folkestone Harbour Arm reopens on Friday 31 March, with the Mole Cafe welcoming its first visitors of the season on Saturday 1 April.

Normandy veterans are to receive France’s top military decoration, La Légion d’honneur, in a simple ceremony at the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel Le Ferne in Kent later this month.

Grade II Listing awarded to War Memorial in Sandgate, Folkestone

The Sandgate War Memorial has received Grade II Listed Building Status following an application by local parish Councillor Guy Valentine-Neale on behalf of the Sandgate Society conservation and planning group.
