Naugatuck, Connecticut USA 7:30am EST Tuesday Jan 27 2015.....storm is currently at its most intense at the moment.

Sandgate Parish Council is alerting local residents of  a forecast of high winds and very heavy rain for this week.

The Met Office has warned of gale force northerly winds arriving in the early hours of Saturday, with gusts widely of 50-60 mph and perhaps as much as 65 mph on exposed coasts of Kent.

Warning of very high tides for Folkestone and Dover area with strong winds from tail end of ex-hurricane on Sunday

People are being advised to stay safe and not take any risks at the seaside on Sunday when strong winds and exceptionally high tides are set to combine to produce potentially hazardous conditions along the Channel coast.

Dear Editor,

Floods in UK.... snow/sleet/ice here in the United States. As I email this, it is 9:45am Feb 13 and the snow is falling at a rate of 3 inches per hour (for next couple of hours)

An army of extra highways crews have been drafted in and others put on standby ahead of the severe weather that is expected to batter Kent this weekend.
