The Lord-Lieutenant of Kent is calling for more volunteers amid concerns that the volunteering spirit may not be quite as strong as it used to be.

Flags are set to be raised in locations across the UK and around the Commonwealth on Monday 13 March to mark Commonwealth Day – including an event at the Dover District Council offices in Whitfield from 9.50am.

HRH the Duke of Gloucester opened the new almshouses in St Stephen’s Canterbury for the Sir Roger Manwood Trust on 6 July and unveiled a plaque commemorating his visit.
