THE CHURCHILL CHALLENGE - ABOUT US

We are The Churchill Challenge, the campaign name for The Churchill School P.T.A. We are based in Hawkinge, Kent, in the United Kingdom. The PTA is a member of the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations.

Committee:-

Lee Parslow, Chair. Colin Simpson, Treasurer.

Meetings:-

On a regular basis - published in the school newsletter at http://www.thechurchillschool.co.uk/newsletter.htm .

Colin Simpson can be contacted by phone on 01303 893979, 07746 408639 & by email, treasurer@thechurchillchallenge.co.uk,  and colinsimpson12@btinternet.com

Aims:-

The Churchill Challenge is raising money for the Churchill School PTA a registered in England Charity. (no. 1102983) All monies raised will go directly to benefit children at the Churchill School in Hawkinge, England. This year we have very ambitious plans. We would like to build an adventure trail at the school for the children to use for years to come. An adventure trail is a set of outdoor play equipment linked together to provide fun and exciting challenges for children of all ages.

Since September 2001, we've bought a stage, sound, stage lighting and stage curtains for the school hall. We've also helped to buy interactive whiteboards for the classrooms, and will be purchasing a substantial amount of computer equipment later this year.

We raise funds through traditional methods, and innovation.

Our website, www.thechurchillchallenge.co.uk is proving rather popular.

The idea is simple: to try and make £30,000 by selling 1,000,000 pixels for 3 pence each.

So, everyone is welcome to buy our pixels, which are available in 100-pixel 'blocks' (each measuring 10x10 pixels). You will see the homepage is divided into 10,000 of these 100-pixel blocks (hence there are 1,000,000 pixels in total). The reason for selling them in 100-pixel blocks is because anything smaller would be too small to display anything meaningful and would be very difficult to click on.

You can buy as many pixels as you like, as long as there are some available. When you buy some pixels, you can then display an image/ad/logo of your choice in the space you have purchased. You can also have the image click through to your own website. However, no obscene or offensive images are allowed.

The pixels you buy will be displayed on the homepage for as long as possible.

The homepage will not change. Using some of the money we make from the site, we guarantee to be here at least until 1st January 2008, but hopefully much longer. So, in the long run, We believe the pixels will offer good value. You will have a piece of internet history!

We also have a brilliant line of home made Chutney - it really is popular, and goes by the name of "Churchill Chutney". It's a range of marmalades, jams, conserves, pickled eggs and pickled onions.

If you would like to support us, please let us know, we are always looking for more helpers.
