Investigators are appealing for information following a collision involving a police car in Chatham.

At around 10.45am on Tuesday 17 November 2020 a collision between a black Toyota Aygo and a marked patrol car took place in New Road, at the junction with Union Street.

Prior to the incident, the police car had been travelling along Union Street, towards New Road, and the Toyota had been travelling along New Road, towards Chatham Hill.

Three people, including a police officer, were taken to a local hospital for precautionary checks after a crash involving a police car in Chatham. No serious injuries were sustained and all the casualties were discharged later in the day.

As is normal for collisions where a police car is involved, the circumstances are being reviewed.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, and is yet to speak with an investigating officer, is asked to call Kent Police at their earliest convenience.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area and recorded the incident, or either of the vehicles involved travelling in the area, on their dash cameras or privately held CCTV.
