Kent Police was called to Lakemead after a man was seen stealing tools from a garage at around 6.40pm on Monday 23 November 2020.
The suspect, who is described as wearing a dark hoodie, jumped over a fence after being disturbed by the victim.
Officers are carrying out enquiries and have appealed to anyone who saw anything suspicious, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage which could assist the investigation, to contact them.
