Dover District Council (DDC) has submitted plans for 24 new homes at Poulton Close in Dover, image pictured above, as part of its ambition to build 500 new affordable homes in the district

The new homes are proposed to be built in two three-storey blocks on a 0.35ha site to the west of the St Radigunds Community Centre.

The new builds form part of the Council’s commitment to develop its own interim housing to reduce the reliance on B&B accommodation and will be let to local people on the Council’s housing list prior to them being rehoused in permanent accommodation.

The mix of one, two- and three-bedroom properties will be suitable for wheelchair users, as well as for couples and families with children.

DDC currently has 147 new affordable homes under construction or in planning at six locations in the district.
