An investigation has been launched following a blaze in Folkestone which left one man dead.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire in a flat in Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone shortly before 1.00am today.

Three fire engines and a height vehicle attended, but sadly a man was found deceased at the scene on arrival.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus, put the fire out using a hose reel jet.

Kent Police attended, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
