Investigators are appealing for the victim of a reported Maidstone assault to contact them.

The incident happened on Sunday 30 May 2021 in Week Street between its junctions with St Faith’s Street and Brewer Street.

Between 2.45pm and 3.05pm, a man wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap is alleged to have approached a woman, who was carrying a large brown shopping bag, and assaulted her.

It is understood he left the scene on foot after members of the public intervened.

Detective Sergeant Scott Winteridge of Maidstone CID said: ‘The woman targeted in this incident did not call the police and we are appealing for her to contact us.

‘We believe she has blonde hair and was wearing a black knee-length dress with short sleeves.’
