Witnesses are being urged to come forward to assist an investigation into an assault in Ashford.

The victim was prevented from getting into his car by another man in Sir John Fogge Avenue at around 12.50pm on Friday 9 July 2021, after visiting a property to speak to residents.

The suspect then followed the victim as he walked down the road and into Repton Avenue, and reportedly attempted to headbutt the victim.

Members of the public intervened and the victim was able to seek help from workers on a nearby building site to call the police.

Officers are investigating the incident, and are appealing for anyone who witnessed it to come forward. In particular, they would like to trace a man in a dark charcoal Mercedes CLA, who stopped to help the victim, as he may have information which would assist enquiries.

Witnesses should call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/120511/21.

You can also make a report to Crimestoppers in Kent anonymously by calling 0800 555111 or by filling in their online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
