Kent law firm Furley Page has donated £5,000 to support The Kent Autistic Trust (KAT) through its charitable foundation.
The Furley Page Foundation is a registered charity responsible for managing all social responsibility programmes of Furley Page Solicitors. Last year, the Foundation selected KAT as its charity of the year and the main beneficiary of its fundraising efforts.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic limiting the number of fundraising events it was able to host, the Foundation managed to run a series of online activities that helped to generate donations to the Trust.
The Kent Autistic Trust provides support for autistic individuals and their families across Kent in a range of different settings including: residential, supported living, day centres and a free family support service.
The Trust relies solely upon grants and donations for funding. Furley Page’s donation will help to ensure that the Family Support service can continue to provide free services and support across Kent, as well as supporting KAT’s other vital projects.
Serita Boxall, the Fundraising & Marketing Manager for The Kent Autistic Trust, said: “We are extremely grateful that Furley Page not only chose The Kent Autistic Trust as its Charity of the Year, but had such success in its fantastic fundraising efforts.
“They have presented us with a very generous donation, which will allow us to continue to support autistic individuals and their families in Kent.”
Nicola August, Partner and Head of Furley Page’s Vulnerable Client Team, is a joint Chair of the Kent Autistic Trust.
Nicola said: “Having worked closely with The Kent Autistic Trust for several years, I have seen first-hand the extraordinary work that it does for autistic people and their families. I was, therefore, delighted when the Trust was chosen as the firm’s charity of the year.
“To be able to donate such a large amount of money in spite of the challenges caused by the pandemic is fantastic and I cannot wait to see the impact that these funds have on the charity and the people that it helps.”
