Two men from Essex have been arrested in Folkestone in connection with an attempted theft from a lorry.
During the evening of Thursday 26 August, Kent Police was alerted to a suspicious vehicle travelling from Essex into Kent.
The occupants had been seen earlier that day tampering with the back of a lorry and left the scene in the vehicle.
Brought to a stop
Officers from the Tactical Operations command pursued the vehicle along the M20 where it was brought to a stop by a police stinger at about 11pm near to junction 12.
A search of the car led to items including metal detectors, gloves and knives being seized.
Remain in custody
The suspects, a 48-year-old man from Billericay and a 43-year-old man from Tilbury were arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped for theft. Both remain in custody.
