Charges have been authorised against a Sittingbourne man in connection with a series of burglaries in Sheerness.

The 60-year-old, of Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne was charged with three counts of burglary and one count of fraud.

The first burglary is reported to have happened in Second Avenue on 27 September, milk was stolen in the incident. The second charge relates to a burglary in Victoria Street on 29 September a number of low value items and £200 was reportedly stolen. The third offence was reported on 4 October in Hillside Avenue a designer watch, money and debit cards were taken.

The fraud charge relates to an incident on 13 September where it is reported a stolen debit card was used to purchase cigarettes and alcohol at a shop in Sheerness.

Mr Chambers was remanded in custody and appeared before Medway Magistrates Court on Saturday, 9 October 2021.
