Seven charges have been authorised against a man who is alleged to have burgled a property in Hollingbourne and stolen from cars parked in Sittingbourne and Canterbury.

The suspect is alleged to have burgled a garage and shed in Hollingbourne on 15 October 2021. Exercise equipment and power tools are said to have been taken.

He is also accused of stealing items from two cars. On 29 September, power tools worth a combined total of £3,200 are reported to have been taken from a car parked in the Laxton Way area of Sittingbourne.

On 1 November, a handbag, purse and headphones are also said to have been taken from a car parked near St Martin’s Hill, Canterbury. A stolen bank card is additionally said to have been used in a fraudulent transaction in the city on the same date.

Attempted thefts from two cars are also reported to have taken place off Eyhorne Street, Hollingbourne, and Gore RoadBredgar, on 15 October.

The suspect has been charged with one count of burglary, two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, two counts of attempted theft from a motor vehicle and fraud by false representation. An additional charge of possessing amphetamine has also been authorised.

The 32-year-old, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 3 November 2021.
