A quite spectacularly colourful and varied Black History Month art exhibition has opened in the Sassoon Gallery at Folkestone Library.
The show features a wide range of paintings, drawings and children’s artwork by Edun Culwin, Ray Carter in support of the Green Kordofan charity.
The show was curated by Aida Silvestri and opened at a preview to great acclaim on Saturday 13 November with scores of people attending. The arts works feature the artists ‘Wave Series’ large canvas’s and triptychs of the local coastlines plus numerous portraits in both pencil and paint.
Indeed one of the highly detailed pencil works by Edun Culwin, drawn as a preparatory ‘sketch’ for a painting, took six months to complete and is a stand alone piece in its own right.
There are also many abstract works on numerous themes and the series of children’s artworks which will be on sale at auction to support the charity.
