Police drone used in Medway burglary arrest

The Kent Police drone was used to arrest a suspect after police received a 999 call of a burglary in progress in Medway.

Officers were called to Birch Grove, Hempstead at around 10.25am on Tuesday, 16 November 2021 after the occupant found two men had forced their way into his home. The homeowner gave chase and called the police.

Police immediately attended the scene and searched the area. They spotted a suspect who ran away from them into nearby woodland. Using the police drone they located a man they believe may have been involved in the burglary and he was arrested.

The man, who is in his twenties, was taken to the police station and interviewed by detectives. He has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
