A suspected shoplifter has been charged with multiple offences following an investigation in Dover.

The town’s Victim Based Crime Team investigated following the theft of clothes, perfume, cosmetics and other items from shops in October and November 2021.

The woman from Dover, has now been charged with eight counts of theft between 9 October and 12 November.

The 45-year-old appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 13 November and was released on bail to appear again on 8 December.

PC Owain Fussell, of Dover’s Victim Based Crime Team, said: ‘Kent Police is determined to protect businesses from the impact of shoplifters and we are carefully monitoring any issues in the run-up to the festive season.

‘We will investigate all reports made to us with a view to bringing those responsible before the courts.’
