A stray dog seen weaving through traffic has been rescued by a Gillingham Police Community Support Officer.

The small female, black and white terrier was caught as drivers took evasive action to avoid a collision in James Street on Tuesday 23 November 2021.

The frightened animal was wrapped in the PCSO’s patrol jacket and received hugs and treats while it was checked for injuries.
It is now in the care of Medway Council dog wardens while attempts are made to identify the owner.
