Officers are investigating a report that a man suffered a serious assault in Maidstone.

The incident happened in King Street during the evening of Sunday 19 December 2021.

At around 11.10pm, a man in his 40s was walking away from the town centre when he was approached by three men who had got out of a vehicle.

Chased

It is alleged the men chased the victim towards the junction with Sittingbourne Road, where he was assaulted.

He suffered a head injury and was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Inspector Steve Kent, of the Maidstone Community Safety Unit, said: ‘We have been completing enquiries in the area, including the examination of CCTV footage, and are now appealing for anyone who saw the incident to contact us.
‘Drivers with dashcam and residents with private CCTV are also asked to check for footage that may assist our investigation.’
