Festive party goers are being reminded to ensure their tickets for New Year’s Eve events are genuine following a report of a scam.

Officers have been made aware that fake tickets have been sold for a New Year’s Eve event at a venue in Dunkirk Close, Gravesend.

However, there is no such event planned at the venue.

Officers are warning residents to ensure any tickets they have purchased for events are genuine before they make their way to venues.

Inspector James Beautridge, from the Dartford and Gravesham Community Safety Unit, said: ‘Sadly scammers will always find ways to target people in order to make money.

‘There is no event planned at this venue and I would encourage people to check any tickets they have purchased are for genuine events before they head out this evening.’
