Police Dog Chewie

A police dog has helped track down a suspected car thief less than an hour after a vehicle was stolen from outside an address in Hadlow.

Kent Police was called at 9.55pm on Thursday 30 December 2021, to a report of a theft of a Ford Focus in Court Lane. Officers located and tracked the stolen vehicle, and a pursuit was assisted by a police helicopter. The car was followed to a field near School Road, Bean, where it was found abandoned.

Patrols carried out a search of the area, which was assisted by Police Dog Chewie.

At around 10.25pm, PD Chewie helped to locate the suspect, a man aged 27 and from Gravesham.

He was arrested and taken into custody, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, criminal damage and driving while disqualified.
