Police Officers investigating a report of a serious assault in Maidstone have arrested two men.

The incident happened in King Street during the evening of Sunday 19 December 2021.

At around 11.10pm, a man in his 40s was walking away from the town centre when he was approached by three men who had got out of a vehicle.

It is alleged the men chased the victim towards the junction with Sittingbourne Road, where he was assaulted.

He suffered a serious head injury and was taken to a London hospital for treatment. The victim has since been discharged.

On the morning of Tuesday 11 January 2022, two men from Maidstone were arrested on suspicion of assault. The pair, both aged 19, were taken into custody and later released pending further investigation.
