A suspect has been arrested after four people, including two police officers, were assaulted in Maidstone.

At around 6.15pm on Friday 14 January 2022, patrols attended Market Buildings following a report of a disturbance in a bar.

Officers attended and it was reported to them that a member of staff and a customer had been assaulted.

While officers sought to arrest a man at the scene, two police constables were also assaulted.


A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and assaulting an emergency worker and he has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
