Folkestone and Hythe community news from PCSO Euan Gilham 17 January 2022

Vehicle interference

Recently around the Folkestone and Hythe area we have been experiencing a large amount of calls in regards to vehicle interference, although this seems to be in the early hours of the morning nothing to say this can not happen throughout the day.

It is essential that you make sure your vehicles are locked and that there is nothing of value on show, this will reduce the risk of anything happening to your vehicle.

If you happen to see anything or catch anything on on a camera, please can you contact Kent Police, either via 101 for non emergency, 999 if you feel it is an emergency or via the Kent Police online reporting system.

Knife bins

Two knife bins have been placed in Folkestone to give anyone in possession of a bladed object a safe place to dispose of it. One of the bins is at the Canterbury Road entrance to the Canterbury Road Recreation Ground and the other is near the Payers Park Car Park, off Dover Road.

The scheme encourages anyone with a knife, or any other potential weapon, to dispose of it in these safe places without fear of prosecution.
