A pair of suspected dealers have been arrested after proactive officers located a quantity of heroin in a hedge near Headcorn.

At around 4.45pm on Sunday 30 January 2022, officers were on patrol in an unmarked police vehicle when they saw a Land Rover parked in Baker Lane containing two men.

They stopped the vehicle as it started to move off and the passenger immediately got out of the offside door.

Suspecting the two men were involved in drug dealing, the passenger was searched and a mobile phone seized.

Another officer checked a hedgerow adjacent to where he had got out of the vehicle and a plastic bag was recovered. Inside were several further bags containing heroin.

Both men, who are from the Maidstone area and aged 48 and 49, were arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs and taken into custody.
