Two suspected thieves in Folkestone arrested as they slipped away with barrels of cooking oil

Two men were arrested on suspicion of theft after being observed wheeling barrels of cooking oil away from a property in Folkestone.

Officers from Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit became aware of a suspicious vehicle at around 2.45am on Monday 7 February 2022.

The black Ford Transit was located in Broomfield RoadCheriton, a short time later with a number of barrels of cooking oil found in the back.

Arrested

A 54-year-old man from London and a 46-year-old man from Norfolk were then arrested whilst walking away from the back of a business premises in the High Street in possession of further barrels.

Both men remain in custody pending further enquiries.
