A suspect has been charged with causing criminal damage and breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order.

Kent Police were called to Margate High Street after a report of a disturbance at around 7.30pm on Tuesday 8 March 2022, during which a moped was damaged.

Following an investigation, Judd Osbourne, of Buenos Ayres, Margate, has been charged with criminal damage.

The 49-year-old is also charged with breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) by drinking alcohol in Marine Gardens, Margate on Thursday 3 March.

The CBO was imposed at East Kent Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 8 February and prohibited Mr Osbourne from having an open container of alcohol in a public place or drinking alcohol in public.

He has been bailed to attend Margate Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 12 April.

Inspector Ian Swallow, of Thanet Community Safety Unit, said: ‘Kent Police understands the impact of anti-social behaviour on residents and will use every option open to us to tackle offenders.

‘Criminal Behaviour Orders are one of those options and the breach of such orders is a criminal offence.’
