Charges have been authorised following an investigation into the theft of a high value e-bike in Herne Bay.

The bike, valued at £8,000, was stolen from a shop in Herne Common at around 1.20pm on Thursday 10 March 2022.

Enquiries led officers to stop a vehicle in Chapel Road, Hoo at around 10.30am on Tuesday 22 March 2022. The driver was detained and arrested in connection with the theft of the e-bike and possession of cannabis.

Billy Johnson who is 39 and from Sturdy Toad, Peckham was later charged with both offences and is due to appeal before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 13 April 2022.
