Cash in the region of £50,000 has been seized from a flat in Tunbridge Wells during the latest enforcement activity to tackle the supply of drugs.

The money was recovered along with designer clothing and shoes worth thousands of pounds, as part of an investigation also linked to money laundering offences and which has resulted in the arrests of two suspects.

At around 4.55pm on Thursday 24 March 2022, plain clothes officers from the Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team initially approached a suspicious vehicle parked in the Knights Wood area. The driver, aged 20, was detained for a search, which led to the seizure of quantities of cannabis and two mobile phones.

A nearby address linked to the man was then entered by police, where multiple bags containing large amounts of cash were discovered. They were confiscated, along with several pairs of designer trainers and coats.

A 22-year-old woman was also later arrested, and both suspects were taken into custody in connection with the supply of drugs and money laundering.
