Witnesses are being sought following reports of tools stolen from vans in Whitstable and Herne Bay.
Kent Police is investigating three incidents which took place between the evening of Wednesday 6 April and the following morning in which van windows were broken by thieves looking to steal.
Power tools reported to be worth thousands of pounds in total, were stolen from a vehicle in Northwood Road in Whitstable. The missing contents included a whacker plate, a 12 inch petrol cutter, a 9 inch angle grinder, rotary saw and a Mikita breaker. (Crime Ref 46/64628/22)
A van was damaged in Mickleburgh Hill, Herne Bay and had a DeWalt battery drill and screwdriver stolen. (Crime Ref 46/64591/22)
In Gosfield Road, Herne Bay, tools including a Makita circle saw, three Makita grinders, a Makita leaf blower and two Makita drills with batteries were stolen from a van. (Crime ref 46/64552/22)
Officers are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything in any of the three areas to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting the relevant reference number.

Residents are urged to be vigilant, and report any suspicious activity near vehicles to police on 101 (or 999 if ongoing).
People are reminded to keep vans locked and secure, and if you have to leave tools or equipment in vehicles:
• Lock your van in a garage or secure location.
• Alarm your vehicle.
• Park in a well-lit area.
• Install CCTV or consider the coverage where possible
• Ensure you know what is in the vehicle, record serial numbers and photograph contents.
