Acting Inspector Leigh Woolnough, of Dover Community Safety Unit, said: ‘Protecting pet owners from becoming victims of crime is an important issue for Kent Police and the many partner agencies we work with.

‘We hope to organise similar events to this in future to give the public an opportunity to speak to experts, and to allow us and other agencies to hear community concerns.’
