Child’s condition remains serious in London Hospital after collision with car in Gillingham

Witnesses are being sought following a serious collision in Gillingham.

At around 8pm on Friday 24 June 2022, a silver Seat Leon car was involved in a collision with a boy.

The collision took place on the pedestrian crossing in Woodlands Road near the junction with Cornwallis Avenue.

He was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a serious condition.

A 40-year-old man from Chatham was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.

An investigation is ongoing by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) who would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.

Anyone who has private CCTV or dash cam footage taken in the area at the time of the collision is also urged to come forward.
