Eagle-eyed officers arrested two people on suspicion of multiple theft offences after a vehicle in Gravesend came to their attention.

Officers from the Tactical Operations Unit were in the area when they spotted the vehicle outside a pub in Gravesend Road just before 3am on Thursday 23 June 2022

When officers approached the vehicle they found two men who claimed they were collecting cooking oil, but enquiries established there was no arrangement in place.

They were immediately arrested on suspicion of theft and upon searching the vehicle, they found several empty drums. Subsequent enquiries linked the vehicle to other theft offences.

A 39-year-old man and 36-year-old man, both from London, has since been released from custody pending further enquiries.
