E-Scooters can be a practical way to get around but are a contentious topic for some.

Kent Police PCSO Nicholas Hazell from the Folkestone & Hythe Community Safety Unit has made it clear that riding them in an antisocial manner will not be tolerated and it could lead to the seizure of the scooter.

It was reported yesterday in the Hawkinge area that a youth was seen on an E-Scooter in such a way as to be riding carelessly and with no regard for others.

The offender has been located by local officers and issued with a Section 59 warning due to their behaviour.

PCSO Hazell said: “This will hopefully have a positive impact on their behaviour, if not this may lead to seizure of any motorised vehicle used by the individual for the duration of the warning.”
