A suspect is to appear in Crown Court charged in connection with burglary offences in Margate.
A report of a burglary was made to Kent Police on Tuesday 2 August 2022 in which a pocket watch, a set of medals and some bank cards were stolen from a property in the High Street. A short time later, the cards were used at nearby shops.
A second burglary was reported on the morning of Wednesday 3 August in Wellis Gardens where keys and a wallet containing cards and cash were taken. The cards were reportedly used three times at shops after the burglary.
An attempted burglary was reported to have taken place in Coronation Crescent on the same day.
Following an investigation by the Chief Constable’s Crime Squad, a man was charged with five counts of fraud, two counts of burglary and one attempted burglary.
The 32-year-old from Margate, appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday 5 August where he was remanded in custody.
The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 5 September.
