Three men have been arrested after police intercepted a suspected fraud by rogue builders taking place in Broadstairs.

Kent Police received a report on the morning of Tuesday 9 August 2022 that residents at a property were potentially being targeted.

Concerns had been raised after a bank had received a request to withdraw a large sum of money to pay for a roof repair.

Enquiries revealed the victims had been approached by cold callers in July and had given several sums of cash to them since then.

Officers from the Local Policing Team arrived at the property in Broadstairs and arrested three men on suspicion of fraud by false representation.

A 23-year-old man from Market Harborough, a 33-year-old man from Clapton, and a 38-year-old man from Leicester were released on bail pending further enquiries.
