A man from Folkestone has been charged with 21 shoplifting offences in the town.

Following an investigation by the Folkestone Victim Based Crime Team, Mathew Farley, 27, of Guildhall Street, Folkestone was charged on Tuesday 23 August 2022 with the theft offences.

The thefts from stores were reported to have taken place between 16 May and 21 August and include items such as cosmetic sets, candles, alcohol, speakers and headphones, frying pans and perfume. The items were reported to be worth an estimated £2,900 in total.

Mr Farley was also charged with two counts of assault, which relate to incidents in Folkestone on 19 and 21 August.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 24 August where he was remanded to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 30 August.
