Investigators are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a report two pensioners in a car were threatened by a motorcyclist in Yalding.

The incident happened in Hampstead Lane at around 12.05pm on Monday 15 August 2022.

As the car travelled over a railway crossing and onto a single carriageway bridge, a black and silver moped came from the opposite direction.

It is alleged the rider swore at the couple and threatened them with a metal chain, before riding from the scene.

Arrest

On 19 August, a 31-year-old man from Maidstone was arrested on suspicion of affray. He is currently on bail until 15 September, pending further enquiries.

Investigating officer, PC Shannon Williams, said: ‘The victims had the right of way on the bridge and the alleged actions of the motorcyclist were appalling.

‘There were other motorists in the area at the time of the incident and we are appealing to witnesses or anybody who has dashcam footage that could assist the investigation, to contact us.’
