Witnesses are sought after a motorist was assaulted in Canterbury.

At around 10.15pm on Monday 5 September 2022, it was reported that a car pulled in front of another and stopped at the junction of South Street and Sturry Road.

It is reported that a man got out of one car and assaulted the other driver through the window of his vehicle, before returning to his car.

The victim of the assault then got out of his car and was reportedly driven at by the other vehicle, which collided with him, causing injuries.

South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the scene, but the victim did not require hospital treatment.

A 46-year-old man from the Canterbury area was later arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

An investigation is ongoing and officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or has CCTV or dashcam footage which might assist.
