Ashford Borough Council’s community alarm service, Ashford Lifeline has relaunched as Lifeline Anytime, along with a brand new website.

Over 2,000 people across the South East know that help is constantly available at their home or work (and soon even when out and about) at the touch of a button 24 hours a day thanks to the alarm service.

The council’s fully trained operators act on a user’s behalf to access emergency services, contact a family member or loved one to let them know they are okay, or simply to offer the advice needed.

Operating 24 hours a day Lifeline Anytime provides instant access via an emergency button to get vital support. A lifeline system within the home could be lifesaving in situations where one may not be able to use a phone due to illness or injury.

Acting as a personal alarm, when pressed, the button sends a direct signal to the Lifeline Anytime Call Centre in Ashford where skilled and experienced operators can communicate via a built in microphone. It is simple enough that a child would be able to press it in the event of an emergency and summon help.

When a person might need Lifeline Anytime

  • If they are injured or unwell
  • If they are unable to get up or if you fall
  • If they have a fire
  • If they fear/suffer domestic abuse
  • If they are pregnant and go into labour
  • If there’s an intruder in their home or garden
  • If they are a lone worker and need a quick way to contact the police or emergency services in the event of a threatening situation or accident

Ashford Borough Council has over 30 years of experience managing community alarm services and all our call handlers are vetted using enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks.

Lifeline Anytime is highly affordable. The annual monitoring cost is just £198.00 per year. That’s just 54p a day.

Cllr Paul Bartlett, Portfolio Holder for Safety and Wellbeing said: “With over 2,000 people across the south-east already using our personal alarm service I am excited to see the business grow with the launch of its brand-new, easy-to-navigate website.

“For those living or working alone our service provides instant access to vital support at the touch of a button and the reassurance of knowing help is at hand whenever it is needed.”
