Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire affecting fences and outbuildings in a number of gardens at Archers Court Road, in Whitfield, Dover yesterday evening.

Eight fire engines and a bulk water carrier were sent to the scene just after 10.00pm, where crews extinguished a large amount of rubbish, an outbuilding and a disused caravan. 

Residents were advised to close windows and warn neighbours.

KFRS’ volunteer response team also attended and provided support to affected residents. 

No injuries were reported, and the cause is not yet known.

Crews extinguished the fire and left the scene shortly before 4.00am this morning, 18 October.
