Officers are appealing for information as part of ongoing enquiries into a burglary in Ramsgate.

Between 2.30pm and 3.10pm on Saturday 12 November 2022, a property in Leopold Road was broken into and a large amount of cash was stolen.

Detectives have since been carrying out forensic investigation, as well as house-to-house and CCTV enquiries in the area.

As part of continuing enquiries, officers are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area that day to contact Kent Police.

Anyone with information, or dashcam or CCTV footage which may assist investigators, should call 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/218728/22.

You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or by using the online form on their website.

    Police advice

With darker afternoons and evenings, residents are also urged to consider security arrangements around their homes to limit the chances of burglaries taking place.

    Officers advise people to:

    • Not leave packaging on display outside, or near their bins, as it advertises what burglars may find inside your home.
    • Consider getting CCTV, security lights or a burglar alarm.
    • Make sure all valuables are insured and consider marking them with a forensic solution, visible under UV light.
    • Arrange for people to collect mail if you are away and put bins away so they can’t be climbed on. Also be careful what you post online regarding valuables and your movements.

Any suspicious behaviour should always be reported to Kent Police, straight away, via our website, live chat or 101 (or 999 if a crime is in progress).
