A Tunbridge Wells drug dealer who gave a false to name to avoid arrest has appeared in court.

On Friday 2 December 2022, officers from the town’s community policing team stopped a Skoda Octavia in Longfield Road.

The constables became suspicious when the driver, Endrion Marfana, attempted to give a false name.

He was detained for a drug search and eight wraps of cocaine were recovered from inside a plastic chewing gum container.

Cash and phone seized

The officers also seized £95 cash and Marfana’s phone. When the latter was examined it was found to contain text messages arranging the sale of drugs.

He was arrested and later charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of criminal property (namely the seized cash) and driving without insurance.

Marfana, from Tunbridge Wells appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 3 December, where he pleaded guilty to all the charges.

The 20-year-old was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
